Botulinum toxin against excessive armpit sweating
Excessive underarm sweating can be very annoying.
A treatment with Botox can provide a solution. Botox is known as an anti-wrinkle agent but is also very effective against excessive sweating. Botox blocks the action of nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, causing these glands to stop producing sweat.
During the treatment, small amounts of botox are injected into the area to be treated approximately every centimeter. The treatment takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
Sweating is minimal after about two weeks. The duration of action is on average 4 to 6 months and the treatment can then be repeated.

Varicose veins are unsightly and often cause unpleasant physical complaints.
Early treatment of varicose veins is important to prevent complaints such as painful or tired legs and fluid in the legs from worsening.
Having varicose veins is a condition where, through timely varicose vein treatment, damage to still healthy veins can be prevented. Varicose veins are common in both women and men. Varicose veins do not always cause complaints (at a young age) but are experienced as disfiguring or uncomfortable.
The first varicose vein consultation with duplex examination
During the first consultation, the diagnosis is made using a duplex examination (vascular ultrasound) and at the end of the appointment you will have the treatment plan for your varicose veins.
CliniX uses the most modern techniques for varicose vein treatment. Our dermatologists and vascular surgeons have years of experience in these treatments.
CliniX provides care in the ZMC that has the Varicose Vein Quality Mark from the Hart & Vaatgroep. This quality mark guarantees excellent care.
Varicose vein removal – reimbursement
A jelly is applied to the skin after which the device (similar to an ultrasound device) gives approximately 250 sound waves per minute to the painful area. The treatment takes approximately 5 minutes. It is a painful treatment. Our advice is not to participate in traffic. Take someone with you who can accompany you safely home.
The health insurers have drawn up guidelines for when treatment is reimbursed from basic insurance and when you have to pay for the treatment yourself.
These guidelines apply to everyone in the Netherlands and apply to all hospitals and private clinics.
To qualify for reimbursement from basic insurance, you need a referral letter from your GP. This will reimburse the first consultation and the vascular examination minus your deductible.
If you do not meet the criteria, your treatment will not be reimbursed from the basic package. You can then have the treatment carried out at CliniX for a fee.
Sometimes the first step of the treatment is reimbursed by the insurer, but the second step for treatment of the smaller veins is not.
Treatment methods for varicose veins
Varicose veins can be treated in different ways. Sometimes a combination of different treatment techniques is used to achieve the best result. CliniX uses the latest treatment methods. These varicose vein treatment techniques are less invasive and can be performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. These procedures also have major cosmetic advantages because no incisions are made to treat the varicose veins.
Examples of these new techniques are endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) and radiofrequency diathermy (VNUS). These are both techniques that do not require an operating room. This varicose vein treatment can also be performed under local anesthesia.
Smaller varicose veins can be treated (additionally) with sclerocompression therapy. In this case, the varicose veins are injected with a liquid using a small needle, causing the varicose veins to disappear.
For all treatments, you will receive a quote and a fixed price for the treatment in advance. You will never be faced with any surprises afterwards.

Shockwave Therapy for the shoulder, elbow, foot or heel.
It has been scientifically proven that sound waves help to heal chronic tendon and bursitis conditions. It has also been proven that sound waves also stimulate bone growth. Shockwave therapy is a good alternative to surgical treatment because it is a quick and easy application.
Uninsured care
Because the cost-effectiveness of this treatment has not been sufficiently proven according to the standards of the insurance (except for the hip and the knee), the insurance does not reimburse this treatment and this treatment falls under uninsured care. It may happen that the treatment has to be repeated.
What does shockwave treatment involve?
A jelly is applied to the skin after which the device (similar to an ultrasound device) gives approximately 250 sound waves per minute to the painful area. Shockwave therapy is currently used for the following conditions:
